I found this article today that I’d written several years ago. I’d taken two Harmony guitars and used the neck from one and the body from another to produce a steel string guitar. As Paul Harvey used to say, here is “The Rest Of The Story”. My friend, Newell Angel, who passed away last September, got to where he was having trouble reaching around a full sized dreadnought guitar several years ago. I retrieved this little guitar from my scrap pile. The neck was badly bowed and it was extremely hard to play. I decided to fix it for Newell and see if he could play it easier than his Martin. I took the frets out of the fingerboard and trued the fingerboard to relieve some of the neck bow. These guitars did not have an adjustable truss rod. I re-fretted it and it played pretty well. I gave this guitar to Newell and he proudly played it until he died. I purchased it from his widow after his death. This guitar has a sweet tone and I’m glad I fixed it for him.
